Updo Puff: Pin-Up Inspired

Sunday, September 9, 2012

I'm wearing a super easy and super cute hairstyle! I call it the updo puff, and it reminds me a little of pin-up/vintage hairstyles. It's so easy to accomplish it's unbelievable! All you'll need are a stretchy headband and maybe a few bobby pins.

Using the faux puff method, slide the headband upward to create the updo, except, don't push the headband too far from your forehead, and push the headband far up the back of your hair. This will make the puff closer to the front. Once you've got your frontward puff, fluff the hair around the headband to keep it hidden.

And that's it! Use bobby pins to pin up loose hairs if needed. I'm rocking one of my large pink & gray plaid hair bows from my shop A Curl's Fantasy. Click here to check out the listing and purchase one of your own :)

Can you do this puff on transitioning hair ???

@Miracle Ross, depending on how much relaxed hair you have, it could probably work out. Try using flexi-rods on the relaxed part to give it texture and curl for the puff.

Cute! I can see you are back at school. Dorm wall in the back ground gives you away. I remember those times. Concrete block walls.
