PC: What are your name and age, and how long have you been natural?

L: LaShon James-Major, over 30 and I've been fully natural since Feb 2012. 



PC: Why did you decide to go natural? 

L: After I saw the movie "Good Hair" I decided the chemicals in relaxers were no longer acceptable to put on hair. I had one last relaxer in February 2010 and then I transitioned.   


PC: How do you feel about your hair? 

L: I love my hair. I've worn my hair straight for so long that I didn't even know my hair had curls! The texture of my hair was a complete surprise to me. 


PC: What products do you use?

L: Currently I shampoo and condition with Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat, deep condition with Macadamia Deep Repair Masque and seal with almond oil. 


PC: What is your hair care routine? 

L: I pre-poo, wash and deep condition once a week. I also baggy my whole head a few times a week.

 PC: What are your favorite hairstyles (Include pictures please, as many as you would like!)

L: My favorite are wash n go's and braidouts. 

PC: What has been the hardest part of your natural hair journey? 

L: Learning how to style my own hair. I wish I could flat twist and braid like nobodies business but I have to be satisfied with the skills and patience I have. 


PC: What was your proudest natural moment? 

L: My proudest moment was when I cut off all of my perm and got to see my natural texture.My hair was really healthy so all of my hard work and patience paid off. 


PC: What tips/suggestions do you have for other naturals? 

L: I say go natural because you want to learn how to care for your hair and not because it's the latest trend. Realize that is will take work to find a regimen and products that work for you but that it's worth it all in the end.
