The team over at ghd generously sent me this styler to review for you all! While the price is definitely up there, I've got to show you the super cool features this flatiron has!
It has a switch that lights up and beeps when it is switched on. It then beeps again when the device reaches the maximum temperature. If it is idle for 30 minutes, it goes into sleep mode, indicated by beeping every five seconds. Pretty cool huh?
I love the design of the styler. It has a two-inch plate, which is perfect for thicker hair like mine!
The styler did an amazing job on my hair! I got smooth, straight results and my hair has stayed that way so far!
There's only one downside to this styler - I was too afraid to straighten my nape hairs! The plates are so wide that I was a bit uncomfortable trying to get at my shorter hairs without burning myself! This was to be expected though.

This styler gets a 5 from me! Along with its super cool safety features that prevent you from having to touch it to see if it has heated all the way, and that turns the styler off when not in use for a long time, it is also great for my thicker hair. It took me a much shorter time to straighten my hair with this styler than with my older flatiron. This one's a keeper!
In my opinion, it's not the price of the styler/flatiron that matters, but rather, the method in which you use to straighten your hair. The comb-chase method should work pretty well for most flatirons. I want to thank ghd for the opportunity to review their gold styler!
