This brush is really cool. As you can see, it's two-sided. One side has very soft bristles, and the other has firmer bristles.
"Ultra soft" side
"Firm" side
I use the ultra soft side to wrap my straightened hair at night. It is also great for smoothing down edges. I find that it is too soft to work well to smooth the rest of my hair in its natural state, but it's great for smoothing down straightened hair, blowdried hair, and your edges.
I used the firm side to smooth my hair for my last hairstyle. I used a bit of aloe vera gel to help with smoothness as well. I love how much smoother it made the updo look. Before getting this brush, I would use my hands to smooth my hair up, and it doesn't look nearly as neat. With the brush, I can smooth down and flatten my hair against my head even more. This prevents me from having to pull hard at my hair to get a smooth look, taking some stress off of my hairline. It also makes the stubborn hairs at the nape of my neck, sideburn hairs, and my edges look much smoother, as those aren't easily smoothed down.

Can you tell the difference? Those stubborn, coarse little hairs that love to coil up at the back of your neck and your sideburns can be tamed for a very neat look. My edges, which are a little shorter, tend to stick out in an updo. Smoothing them up with the brush makes the updo look very neat. The firm side works better on my edges, but I try to use it gently on the edges of my hair as those hairs are much more fragile and more susceptible to breakage. I really wish I had found this brush before!
This brush is easy to clean. Simply take a fine-toothed comb to comb the hairs from between the bristles. Then give it a nice soak in warm, soapy water.
Do NOT use this brush to detangle. It is not a good detangling brush for curls and kinks as those bristles are way too close together. This brush should just be used for smoothing.
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5
This brush is great! Whether you're in need of the ultra soft side for gentle smoothing or the firm side for a sleeker look, this brush will definitely meet your needs! I highly recommend this brush as it does its job, and is very affordable.
I purchased this product with my own money. This review expresses my personal and honest opinion of this product.

Great review:) My hairline is not strong so I avoid brushes.
Thanks Shelly and Tinuke!
I used a soft boar bristle brush to make brush coils and my son will only allow me to touch his hair with the soft brush.
