I was super excited to try out the Curlformers!

The Long and Narrow Curlformers

Here's what I did!

My hair was freshly washed and conditioned, so it was wet. This helps to set the curl. I also had the conditioner left in for hold (I used It's Perfectly Natural Lovin' My Coils Deep Conditioner. Check out my review here.) Here is the size of the section of hair I used for each Curlformer.

I snapped the two parts of the styling hook together. I then took one Curlformer, pinched the top so that the hole would open, and slid the hook all the way up until it popped out of the other end of the Curlformer.

This part was tricky to take pictures of at the back of my neck, so I took them at the front of my hair. I wound my hair starting at the root (you don't have to wind all the way down the strand.) I then brought my hair through the hook and held it so that my hair wouldn't slip out.

I then held the top of the Curlformer while I drew the hook back through the bottom of the Curlformer so that my hair got pulled through the Curlformer. It might make a funky shape when you first pull through. Reshape the Curlformer by sort of un-coiling it, then letting it re-coil on its own. It should then return to its original shape.

I continued to do this until I was done!

After that, I slept in the Curlformers (a bit uncomfortable, but doable) and removed them the next morning.

Take them out by squeezing the top of the Curlformer to open the hole, then sliding the Curlformer down.

A perfect curl!

Keep going until they're all out!

I separated each curl into about two or three more curls for a fuller look!

Gorgeous, aren't they!? And they look just like small barrel curls from a curling iron, except I used no heat!

Overall, I very much enjoyed how the Curlformers performed! They created some beautiful curls. There were some parts of the installation process that were a bit tricky for me, however. I'll go into more detail in another post. I will also be sharing a hairstyle that I did with the Curlformers in the next few days!

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5

I love curlformers! I used them a lot when I transitioned. The more you practice the faster you get at putting them in. Right before I BC I was able to put them in my whole head in about 20 minutes. I have been waiting for more length before I break them out again. You look lovely! To avoid the uncomfortable unrestful sleep, I would put them in on a Saturday morning wear them all morning doing chores around my house and then take them out in the afternoon for a fresh wonderful look for a dinner out with my hubby.
