Pin-Up Bun With Criss-Cross Rolling Twists

I've been getting the bun crave lately, so I couldn't wait to try this style out! Here's how I accomplished it.

 

I first stretched my hair out for the style using the banding method, which I will explain in a post tomorrow. I first parted off a section in the front of my hair, then split that section in half by making a part down the middle.

I then pulled the rest of my hair into a high pony. I used a bit of aloe vera gel to help smooth everything down.

With the pony, I simply spread the hair out in all directions, then pinned down the hair around with bobby pins in a circle until I had a round bun! I then put a scrunchie at the base of the bun to hide the bobby pins. I will do a tutorial post on this soon.

With one half of the front section, I wind the hair clockwise. I then cross the section over to the base of my bun.

I do the very same with the other half, except I wind it counterclockwise. I cross the section over to the other side of the base of my bun. I then tuck any loose ends under the scrunchie at the base of my bun.

Laying the wound hair flat gives it a cool, bump-swirl kind of look to it!
