How To Make a Pinned/Pin-Up Bun

Saturday, March 3, 2012

Pin-up buns are super cute and are so easy to make!

All you'll need are some bobby pins, an elastic to make a pony with, and a scrunchie to cover the base of the bun.

Put your hair up in a pony. Here, my hair has been stretched using the banding method (check out my tutorial post here.) It looks slightly crazy because it got a little wet.

Spread the hair out in all directions as you see above.

Take sections of hair and begin pinning the ends of the hair down by the base of your pony. Go around in a circle until all the hair has been pinned down. I pin in about 4-6 sections all around.

You can cover the base of the bun with a scrunchie to hide the bobby pins.

Very nice, like a sock bun but minus the sock :)

Thanks Diva Locks! Sock buns are definitely much neater looking. Will have to do a tutorial on that too next time I rock one :)
