A poem and letter written by Dominique-Alexis of Natural-Hair-Care-Info.com
When it comes down to embracing our natural texture, why is it so much harder for some people than others? Why is it that some of the strongest women I know just can’t overcome their fears and take the plunge?

After some trial, error, and thinking, (mostly thinking), I have figured out a remedy that might work for an itchy scalp.
Now first, let me bring up the old trick that we all know and remember *dearly*, to remedy an itchy scalp: grease or oil. Do I agree with this method and can it work? Well, yes and no.

Naturalista Cosmetics Facebook Page Attacked By Racist Posts

Naturalista Cosmetics, a natural hair care business, has recently experienced numerous spiteful posts on its Facebook page. These posts were targeted at our race and at our hair. The N word was used several times. These hateful offenders would post contentious photographs and say hateful derogatory things about our heritage. I actually saw the words and the photos myself and was just disgusted by the utter ignorance! Funny how embracing our natural hair is such a huge threat to some!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers out there! Can you guess what I did for my mom on her day?
Yep, I gave her some mini twists at her request :) I've never done her hair before. We both love how they came out! After church in the morning, we went to the Cheesecake Factory to eat and then we visited a few friends. We had such a great time!
What did you guys do for mother's day?
Hair Share: How To Do The Braid And Knot

by Chelsea of Curly and Young
So on Friday night I got to styling my hair for church the next day. I planned to do a braid out as per usual and wear it out. To do this style I normally do three or so bantu knots in the back and braids everywhere else. The bantu knots help to curl my hair upwards as the hair and the back hangs more than the sides of my hair giving my hair a weird shape. After doing the knots and the back I became curious as to what results I would get if I did bantu knots all over.
