Yesterday, I had some of my cousins over. That day I was rocking my signature puff, but I had taken a nap in the afternoon. I was still napping when they had arrived so I didn't see them when they came in.
When I did wake up, I went down to greet them. As soon as she saw me, one of my cousins, who is eight years old, said with a disgusted expression and tone, "Your hair is all puffy."
I went to pick up my little cousin, her younger sister, who is almost three.
She said, "Look at your hair! It looks so pretty!"
"You like it?" I asked her.
"Yes!" she says, and starts to pat my puff.

I to had a similar experience this weekend. My mother told me that I should "hot comb" my hair and that she preferred it when it was relaxed. To have someone you love basically tell you that what grows out of your hair isn't ok and that I need to alter it to be pretty hurt. Your puff is pretty! Wear it proudly.
